ANZSEE 2011 Conference
We have decided to postpone the ANZSEE conference planned for Wellington this year, in December 2011, in favour of a conference in 2012. We have not yet made a firm decision on location, and will choose a time that does not clash with the ISEE conference in Rio 29 May – 1 June 2012.
We apologize to people who are inconvenienced by this decision, particularly people who have submitted abstracts. The main reasons to postpone are that we have had great difficulty in securing the participation of appropriate keynote speakers for the program, and – in part because of this – that the conference was likely to have relatively low participation if we went ahead.
We know that many people have been looking forward to the getting together to share ideas and research experiences, and will be disappointed by this decision, but we also think it is important to maintain the high standard of past ANZSEE conferences.
Please feel free to contact us via e-mail (Secretary’s e-mail Oscar.Montes@agresearch.co.nz) to make comments or suggestions, offer help, or ask any questions.
The ANZSEE AGM (which is normally held at the conference) will be held by phone conference later this year, with the main meeting in Canberra or Wellington. Notice of the AGM will be advertised on the ANZSEE website well in advance.
