Centre for the Advancement of the Steady State Economy

The Center for the Advancement of the Steady State Economy (CASSE) is a tax-exempt organization dedicated to advocating a sustainable economy with stabilized population and consumption. This economy is called a “steady state economy.” The purposes of CASSE are to: educate citizens and policy makers about the fundamental conflict between economic growth (increasing production and consumption of goods and services) and environmental protection, economic sustainability, national security and international stability; promote a steady state economy of stabilized, mildly fluctuating size as a sustainable alternative to economic growth; and study the means conducive to the establishment of a steady state economy.
