Ecological Economics — Explainer and Urban Application

The Conversation has just published two articles, one explaining/introducing ecological economics — and referencing many recipients of this email — and another arguing that Australian cities lack long-term vision for sustainability.

They are the first in a series of four articles developed in association with the 2019 Australia New Zealand Society of Ecological Economics conference at the end of this month, 24–26 November at RMIT University. Articles on Indigenous ecological economies and the rights of nature will follow.

  1. What is ‘ecological economics’ and why do we need to talk about it?
  2. No Australian city has a long-term vision for living sustainably. We can’t go on like this
