Fulbright New Century Scholars Program

Dear Colleague,

It is my pleasure to inform you that the 2009-2010 Fulbright New Century Scholars Program (NCS) has been announced. The topic is “The University as Innovation Driver and Knowledge Center” and the program will bring together scholars and professionals from the United States and around the world with expertise and interest in equipping universities for meaningful roles in innovation, entrepreneurship, economic capacity building and community development.

The selected NCS participants will have the opportunity to engage with 30 outstanding colleagues in intellectual exchange, multidisciplinary collaboration and research and will receive a stipend of $30,000 to support their research activities.

We will also be hosting a web chat session on October 13, 2008 at 11:00 AM to answer any questions you or your colleagues might have about the program or the application process. To join the chat, please click here at the time specified above and click on the link.

Applicants from the U.S. must send their applications no later than November 15, 2008. Applicants from outside the U.S. should consult with the Fulbright offices in their respective countries for specifics regarding the application process. NCS activities will begin in May 2009 with an orientation and goal setting seminar.
If you have any questions regarding the program you may contact Jonathan Looper, Program Associate of Global and Specialist Programs, at (202) 686-6235 or jlooper@cies.iie.org.

We look forward to your interest in the 2009-2010 Fulbright New Century Scholars program.

Best wishes for you and your work,
