A postdoctoral position is available in assessment of ecosystem condition and services of aquatic resources at Michigan State University’s Center for Water Sciences and Department of Zoology. The project is a 4-year cooperative agreement with the USEPA designed to assess relationships among ecosystem condition and services in rivers, wetlands, and lakes. Data from regional and national surveys will be used to evaluate these relationships and link results to policy mechanisms. The successful candidate must have a strong interest in environmental science and demonstrated training and expertise in aquatic ecology, statistical analysis, and GIS. Additional experience in environmental assessment, ecosystem services, and ecological modeling is preferred. We offer ample possibilities for collaboration with a multi-institution team of faculty, post-docs, graduate students, and EPA partners involved in a group of related projects.
Salary will be $40,000 – $45,000 per year with a benefits package. This is a 12 month position with options for one or more years of renewal based on performance and availability of funds. The starting date is July 15 or as soon as possible thereafter. Send a letter that describes your interests and experiences in the above areas, electronic copies of publications and submitted manuscripts, a curriculum vitae, transcripts or list of courses taken with grades, and names and contact information for two or more references to Jan Stevenson at firstname.lastname@example.org. Selection of candidates will start on June 20.
