MSc Sustainability (Ecological Economics)
School of Earth and Environment
University of Leeds, UK
Ecological and environmental economists have never been in greater demand, using their skills to develop and propose policy measures for sustainable development in government agencies, large multinational corporations, energy providers, transport companies and financial organisations.
This 12 month postgraduate masters course takes a look at the complexity of production, consumption and policy choices. It analyses the interactions between economy, society and environment, and shows how applications of environmental and ecological economics can input into decision making processes in different organisations and contexts. The programme combines modules that build strong foundations in broader debates on sustainability with more specialist ones examining the principles, tools and applications of environmental and ecological economics. It also introduces the range of economic perspectives and tools and shows how they can be applied and used to address environmental problems in a wide range of different contexts.
