Registration Open: International Society for Bhutan Studies Inaugural Conference

Registration Open:
International Society for Bhutan Studies Inaugural Conference
8-10 January 2019, Oxford

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the International Society of Bhutan Studies Inaugural Conference on 8-10 January 2019 in Oxford, UK.

As a new international academic society, ISBS seeks to develop the study of Bhutanese culture, life and nature. The society will endeavour to encourage, inspire and motivate interest in lesser known aspects of Bhutanese society, as well as to promote and strengthen areas of existing scholarship.

The principal venue for the conference will be Magdalen College, Oxford OX1 4AU.

How to register

The links below will allow you to register (and submit an abstract, if desired), and pay the conference fee (£50 GBP) via our Online Store to confirm your place at the event.

For those previously notified of an accepted abstract for the postponed ISBS Conference, your paper remains accepted.

  1. Deadline for submissions of new abstracts: 12 August 2018

Accommodation

Due to the proximity of our event to the University of Oxford’s Hilary Term, University accommodation is in short supply – we recommend watching University Rooms for University accommodation as it becomes available, while Booking.comAirbnb, and HomeAway are good resources for finding affordable rooms, hotels and apartments around the city.

Please do get in touch with any questions that you may have at isbsbhutan@gmail.com.
