The College of Forestry at Oregon State University invites applications for the position of Professor and Department Head, Department of Forest Ecosystems and Society. This is a 1.0 FTE, full time, 12-month, tenured position. The position becomes available July 1, 2012. Dept. Head leads a top global program with state-of-the-art facilities and a highly interactive and productive team of faculty and staff with a diverse set of specialties including all aspects of forest science, ecosystem management and restoration, human dimensions of natural resources, natural resource recreation, tourism and outdoor leadership, environmental economics, and more. Students can earn a BS in Natural Resources, MS and PhD degrees in Forest Ecosystems and Society, and a Masters in Natural Resources (online).
Minimum requirements include a PhD in a biological, physical, or social science field related to Forest Ecosystems and Society and one or more of its specialties. The candidate must possess an exemplary record of internationally known professional work; excellent communication, administrative, and organizational skills; a demonstrated strength in collaborative leadership; and demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
