Required Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment.
- Strong organizational and operational management skills. Experience with political organizing.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Advanced degree.
- Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, inclusion, and community engagement.
- Familiarity – and motivation – with post-growth: knowledge of its theory and practice and commitment to alternative socioeconomic models that prioritize ecological sustainability and social equity.
- Knowledge of fundraising and resource development.
Desirable Qualifications
- Academic or practical grounding in post-growth theory, degrowth, ecological economics, or related frameworks.
- Experience working across geographies or in translocal networks focused on socio-environmental justice, ecology, or transformation.
- Fluency in more than one language (Spanish a plus) and/or demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultures and contexts.
More Information
Salary and benefits will be negotiated based on the candidate’s experience and the organization’s capacity. The starting salary range is $95,000–$120,000, with an additional 25% of salary allocated for benefits. The Board is committed to establishing a compensation package that reflects equity, transparency, and the significance of this leadership role.
