PhD position in dynamic modelling of the Icelandic energy system

The School of Engineering and Natural Sciences and the School of Social Sciences at the University of Iceland invites applications for a PhD studentship for the project: Modelling transitions to sustainable energy systems. The project aims to develop a systems dynamics model to compare transition paths of alternative futures of the Icelandic energy system.

The project is funded by the Icelandic Research Council (RANNIS), and is a collaborative project between the University of Iceland, Reykjavik University, MIT and Utrecht University.

Qualification requirement: Applicants should have a MSc degree in economics, environment and natural resources or engineering. Knowledge of energy systems analysis and system dynamics is considered a plus. Very good knowledge in spoken and written English is required.

The project is funded for three years, beginning September 1st 2016 or by agreement.
