For the chair of ”Environmental Economics of Land Use“
Reference number: VI-155/15 (to be filled as soon as possible)
Responsibilities: The position specializes in the analysis and development of economic and regulatory instruments in the context of environmentally sound land use, efficient human-environmental systems analysis, spatially explicit environmental planning, along with national and international biodiversity policy.
In-depth knowledge in several of the following topics is expected:
- Economic analysis and evaluation of environmental policy,
- modeling economic drivers of land use,
- instruments for sustainable use and conservation of ecosystems,
- economic methods for valuing ecosystem services, biodiversity and landscapes, as well as recreation economics.
Moreover, excellent expertise and experience in the application of different economic methods is required.
Teaching responsibilities include curriculum within the German-speaking Bachelor course “Ecology and Environmental Planning”, as well as the English-speaking Master courses, “Environmental Planning” and “Environmental Policy and Planning”.
Requirements: Candidates should fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act) [the information leaflet will be provided upon request], including a completed academic education, qualified achievements in research (PhD), post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or equivalent qualification and pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be given proof of by a teaching portfolio (for more information see TUB website, quick access no. 144242). We are looking for an outstanding researcher in “Environmental Economics of Land Use”, capable of increasing the international visibility of TU Berlin in this area. A successful track record in securing and leading research projects is desirable; communication skills, personnel management capabilities as well as willingness of interdisciplinary co-operation with departments of TU Berlin and research establishments outside university are essential. Willingness to take on administrative tasks is expected as well as didactic skills and academic teaching experience.
