I am a Lecturer in Ecological Economics at the University of Leeds.
While originally from Galicia, in Northeast Spain, I have been in the UK for the last 10 years. I am a current member of the ISEE board, and as part of it I have helped to set up and run the ‘Community-engagement committee’.
I am interested in running for another term as some of the activities we do take a bit longer to come to fruition and I still have the energy and commitment to contribute to the community. I am particularly interested in helping to create spaces that explore how to practice and do ecological economics beyond academia.
As a lecturer I see that most of our graduates do not stay in academia but go and practice elsewhere. I would like that the ISEE keeps offering a space for different ‘actors’ to come together to learn and reflect on how to do ecological economics, and how our work can be (and is) taken outside academia to many other sectors and industries. This is where I would like to keep working as an ISEE board member.
